2019-2020 Events

Saturday, September 14, 2019   –   Unison and 2 part anthems for small choirs, children’s choirs, and youth choirs Anthem Reading Session plus “open organ bench” for those interested…

9:45 – Noon   at First Congregational Church, 31 Maple Street, Bristol

Bring a set of one or two of your favorite unison, two part, children’s, or youth choir anthems to share, and the rest of us will be your choir! We will also have a set of the anthems that have been chosen for our YOUTH CHOIR FESTIVAL coming up March 14 (snow date of March 21) at Trinity Episcopal Church in Torrington. (Gabriel Lofvall, director of Chorus Angelicus, will again be our Festival director!) We hope that you will then want to order that music and sign up a children’s or youth choir for the festival. But even if not, come and join us in Bristol. Please let Bill Degan know what anthem(s) you are bringing and the composer, voicing, and publisher so he may type up a list for everyone. ( dblopen32@gmail.com )

After we have sung the anthems, Bill will give a short talk and demonstration of the 1977 Casavant pipe organ which is tuned in Kirnberger III temperament. Then, the bench will be open for you to try playing the organ.
